Crew
Hello I am Kristopher, founder, President, and Person Responsible for Maintenance for Maple West Aero Ltd. Flying since 2003 and turning wrenches since 2004, I have always loved being around planes.
Born and raised in the Lower Mainland, I make my home in Pitt Meadows. You’ll find me wrenching on various Cessnas, or burning laps around the airport in my PA22/20.
Over the years I have flown/ wrenched for Mom and Pop operations in tiny towns on the Arctic Circle to luxury lodges in the Rocky Mountains and South Chilcotins. A recent highlight has been 4 seasons as Captain on the 14 passenger DHC3 Turbo Otter and Cessna Caravan EX G1000 for Harbour Air. Always learning, planning, studying and perfecting, making good decisions has led me to an accident and violation free career. Realizing long ago that knowing details mechanically about the bush planes I was flying was an important skill, I worked hard to add the AME license to my aviation resume.
Owning and operating a Transport Canada approved aviation business is my life’s work built on a career of experience. I founded Maple West Aero in 2016 and am proud to have achieved AMO status in February 2024! In September 2025, Transport Canada carried out their first process inspection on our operation with zero findings - confirming our complete compliance with regulations and standards!
Our crew is growing! Please check back soon for the newest editions to MWA Maintenance Team below!
Thanks for visiting, and Welcome!
Spencer Eigenmann - AME Apprentice
Spencer graduated from the BCIT AME program in 2025, and has been with the company since late 2024. A clever, keen learner who already worked part time for me on evenings and weekends while he was still in college! He has been a huge help in the extensive rebuild process of my PA-22, taking on the electrical wiring and instrument panel upgrade. Full-time since September 2025, he has helped double the output capacity of Maple West Aero!
He is also a private pilot, working on his commercial license. My mentorship of him extends beyond maintenance. It has been fun flying with him in the 172, showing him backcountry and mountain operations, and special VFR checkouts. He handles the aircraft and pressure training scenarios well, with due care and attention, and solid pilot decision making. Combining AME training and flying skills will make for a well rounded, competent AME/ Aviator!
His attention to detail, and strong work ethic are a major asset to our team. Spencer is an ambitious individual, and fits into the MWA family well. His patience with my kids is not in his job description; on his own initiative he takes the time to help little Maverick with his screwdriver, or other 3 year old problems. Taking a moment for the little ones is much appreciated by Julia and me.
Welcome to the team and keep up the great work Spencer!
